What sound card do you have? There is a known issue with some Creative sound cards whereby a combination of a faulty BIOS on the sound card in conjunction with certain motherboards, will cause crashes in *some* games.

change the graphics card being used in Eve's graphics settings to the secondary monitor. Eve will then work fine on the secondary monitor, but slowly on the primary.
